City of Hustlers
This place is not for the weak.
The traffic congestion?! Chimo🙆🏽♀️, don’t get me started on that, blaring noise from vehicle horns; major headache inducer 😰, traders with their wares all over the place, mostly blocking the road and making it difficult for pedestrians to walk freely, people coming and going, pushing and cursing themselves while at it, pickpockets doing ‘their thing’.
I remember a shocking episode on one of those trips with my mum. This woman was about to pay for something she bought when she noticed that her wallet and phone were gone, she was in shock when she noticed that her bag was torn at the side, awon omo oro, “they” legit tore it with a razor blade and took out the phone and wallet. I was shook at the expertise. That for me was a major eye opener “mehn”. Now, I don’t ever go to that market with a big bag, I carry something that I can “tight to my chest” and I sometimes go with my palasa phone only.
When you’re in Lasgidi, you better be smart and shine your eyes 👀 well because “everybody red eye, red eye”
